Last night I went rowing on Lake Union in the evening, and it was glorious! The water was flat, the sun was setting, and the air was cool and comfortable. It feels like spring in Seattle, which means another rowing season is beginning.

This winter in Seattle was relatively mild. But anytime there is sun and temperatures in the mid-50’s, it’s time to get outside and rejoice because it won’t last long.

I’m also rejoicing about a return to rowing. I took a year off to have my baby. I was nervous about coming back. Despite my best intentions, I have not done much cross-training over the winter. I lack abdominal strength and the calluses on my hands have disappeared. But I’m happy to report that the practice was great. It was so much fun rowing with my teammates again. Despite some achy muscles and joints this morning, I feel completely rejuvenated and hungry to get back on the water!
